EU funding awards for military mobility projects

The European Commission and CINEA have announced the winning projects of the 2023 CEF Transport call for proposals on Military Mobility!

This was the third and final call for projects aimed at improving the capacity of dual-use transport infrastructure along the TEN-T, a necessary boost for European defence at a time of heightened security concerns caused by Russia’s war against Ukraine. The call will support 38 projects for a total of € 807 million.

Along our Corridor, the projects awarded include:

  • Works to upgrade rail freight and passenger capacity to civilian and military dual use in Copenhagen (by A/S Øresundsforbindelsen)
  • Works to build a new rail freight station at the port of La Spezia (by ADSP MLO La Spezia e Carrara)
  • Works to increase rail freight capacity and dual use on the Iron Ore Line between Narvik and Luleå (by Trafikverket)
  • Works to remove a major rail bottleneck with a grade-separated junction and adaptation for dual use in Göteborg (by Trafikverket)

ScanMed RFC congratulates the winners of the call and especially our stakeholders and partners among them. The aforementioned projects will bring added value to our Corridor, and we are looking forward to witnessing their completion!
