Communication, information and the free flow of goods is essential

We, as humans, are experiencing something that we aren’t used to handling. Our movement is restricted; we are having to cope with loved ones being sick or even passing on. The economy is struggling, and the social impact is enormous. These examples are just a few.

In times like these, we have to prioritize and make sure that essential functions are in place and efficient.

At ScanMed RFC we are working hard on enabling more goods on the railway – the most efficient and reliable way of transporting goods. We are aware of long ques when transporting goods on trucks due to the various border restrictions in place – the railways don’t face the same issue. Here we have a unique possibility of cooperating between different modes of transport, and ScanMed RFC can be the facilitator.

Communication and information are also vital: We need to communicate efficiently as well as clear, and the data has to be up to date. We rely on information sent to us from you – our valued stakeholders, RUs, customers, and partners. We can help you in spreading news, offers, and other valuable information. Don’t hesitate to contact us at jt@scanmedfreight.eu.

Misleading information can be very harmful – be mindful of the source when you pass the information on to others. A kind suggestion from my side is to use vetted sources, I have gathered a few links below. I have also included a link to the Swedish Transport Administration, on the 31st of March 2020 they published an article of the importance of the railways during the COVID-19 pandemic. The article is in Swedish, but a brief English summary can be found on this link.

Finally – I hope that you are safe and well, and I urge you to follow the guidelines that are in effect where you live. Hopefully, we can all return to a more normal state soon.
