Brenner axis Task Force Pilot Project – Workshop with Railway Undertakings

UPDATE: ScanMed RFC and the Brenner Axis Task Force thank very much the numerous Railway Undertakings (RUs) that participated at the workshop, as well as the Terminals and Brenner Corridor Platform. We are eager to launch common RUs – IMs (Infrastructure Managers) activities now, so that new or optimized cross processes can improve the quality of our transport services and make the rail more attractive for the transport decision makers. This will help reaching market goals as well as climate goals, and once is fully developed can even represent a good example of joint coordination of traffic and capacity for a European macro-area across several countries.

Dear ScanMed RFC Railway Undertakings,

We would like to inform you that a “Brenner axis Task Force Pilot Project – Workshop with Railway Undertakings” has been organised and will be held on the 16-March-2021. Please stay tuned on this web-page as important flyers will be shared soon and updated on a regular basis.

If you didn’t have the chance so far, we recommend you to save the date. The workshop has two main objectives:

  1. presenting the state of the art of the actions that have been put in place so far (Pilot Project launched in December-2020). This resulted in processes and procedures, or recommendations, among Infrastructure Managers and covering the three operational phases: Planning, Real-time, Performance review.
  1. inviting the Railway Undertakings to present issues where they see the need of establishing / optimising processes and procedures between Railway Undertakings and Infrastructure Managers.

Please note that these Railway Undertakings issues can only be in the framework of the ScanMed RFC and Brenner Axis Task Force mission and tasks, as we must already have all the resources to work on this effectively, now. This means short term and soft measures, on the level of the operation, punctuality, planning, communication, …, across the three operational phases: Planning, Real-time, Performance review.

An agenda and invitation will follow soon.

Please do not hesitate to contact your Infrastructure Manager National Referent of the Brenner axis Task Force or Gregor Thalhammer gregor.thalhammer@deutschebahn.com ; Paul Dippmann pd@scanmedfreight.eu ; Emanuele Mastrodonato em@scanmedfreight.eu ; should you have questions.

We look forward to meeting you at the Workshop.
